The photos were taken around the New Year of 2003 when snow fell on London for the first time in a dozen years. The cold, crispness of the air explains the deep blue skies and the strong clarity of the pictures. You can see it in the faces of the people who are bundled up and red with cold. This, of course, constrasts strongly with the inviting warmth of the pub where people come in out of the cold to warm themselves with the classic English drink of ale. |
